The Astral 4.0 is comfortable, light weight and perfect for women. The herfit is amazing

This is by far the best version of the Astral vest. The fit is amazing, it’s comfortable, and has storage for everything. The shoulder pocket is perfect for my Garmin inReach (a huge bonus for me!) and I can pack my food and gear where they are easily accessible. The perfect vest for the badass chick in your life!!

I have been using the Astral 3.0 for several years. I like everything except the curve over the bust. Being someone who is big busted the herfit curves just sit on the side of my breasts and aren’t comfortable. I like the angled bottom pockets so I haven’t tried the men’s Astral yet. I was hoping the 4.0 version would just have a straight lines on the front instead of the curved.

FINALLY found an adjustable vest for large boobs and ultra distances

I love the capacity, both in terms of the bladder and the overall storage. The only caveat is the middle, small mesh stow pockets on the front… I cannot for the life of me figure out what these were meant for, but nothing I put in them stays. Nutrition, masks, etc… eventually stuff just gets jostled out, sometimes right away. The rest of the pockets are great but I wish I could find a way to make these ones functional.

I wanted to love everything about this pack; I love the fit, and capacity back compartment. But the fact that the front pockets cannot hold a soft flask make this pack a no go for me. I had to return the vest. Hopefully the next go round they’ll update so the front pockets fit a flask and can be tightened. The back capacity is awesome for short runs and longer, but the pockets etc are a must have 🙁

As a woman with a shorter torso & large chest, this is the only vest I’ve found that fits comfortably over my chest. I love the fit & design from the start. However a couple of things could be changed to make this vest even better: The sideways stash pockets in the front do NOT hold anything. I’ve lost food & other items while running on trail. There should be some sort of closure on these pockets to actually utilize them. They could also be bigger. Another issue is the cord on the back of the vest. For some reason all the other cord on this vest is stretchy – except in this spot. This would be a great place to store a light jacket or layer, but when the vest has a full bladder & items inside, you cannot store anything on the front due to lack of stretch in the cord. These are just 2 places that reduce overall carrying capacity on longer objectives. Overall I love this vest, and with those couple of tweeks I would give absolutely 5 stars.
